What it checks

  • The right size

1200 × 630 pixels, the 1.91:1 shape every major social app uses.

  • Four layouts

Classic, centered, split with your logo, and minimal with a big domain.

  • Text that fits

Long titles shrink and wrap on their own, with an ellipsis only as a last resort.

  • Readable colors

Solid, gradient or patterned backgrounds, with black or white text picked by contrast.

  • Live preview

See it in a Facebook-style card as you type, with an optional safe-area guide.

  • Copy-ready tags

The og:image, width, height and alt tags to paste into your page.

Questions

What size should an OG image be?

1200 × 630 pixels, a 1.91:1 ratio. Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Slack and WhatsApp all show this shape well. Keep the file small, ideally under 1 MB.

Is my logo uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything happens in your browser. Your logo and text never leave your device, and the PNG is made on your computer.

Why keep text inside the safe area?

Some apps crop the edges or show the image as a square thumbnail, so text near the edges can get cut off. The guide shows the padded area and the middle square that stay visible.

How do I add the image to my site?

Upload the PNG to your site, then add an og:image tag with its full https URL to the page’s <head>. Then run the Open Graph Checker to see what social apps get.
